Fill in the Blank: Bayern Munich snatching another star from Borussia Dortmund is___________

It has been reported that Dortmund captain Mats Hummels has signed for Bayern Munich for around €35 million.

Surprise, Surprise.

Hummels has become the third player in as many years who has replaced the black and yellows of Dortmund for the red and whites of Munich.

In a statement made on his Facebook page, because social media is the best place to make a statement, Mats Hummels had this to say about his ditching of the club he claims to love so much;

“I have not made my decision easily after eight and a half successful years at BVB.”

“I was always proud and still am, to wear the BVB jersey and to be part of this exceptional team.”

“Before I return to my hometown in the summer, we have a large, common goal — once again to bring the DFB Cup to Dortmund and with blah blah blah blah.”

BVB should change their name from ‘Borussia Dortmund’ to ‘Borussia Play-well-so-Bayern-Munich-can-sign -you-next-season-mund’

Yes, Bayern is the biggest club in Germany. But, wouldn’t it make sense for their closest rivals, Borussia Dortmund, to sell their best players (if they are refusing to sign new contracts) to clubs other than the Bavaria giants??

Anyway help me fill in the blank

Bayern Munich snatching another star from Borussia Dortmund is___________

…a sort of financial bullying

Every time BVB build a squad of good players who can compete in the Bundesliga and domestic cups or on rare occasions the Champions League (like Klopp’s 2013’s squad), here comes the big fat bully Bayern Munich to ruin things for them by snatching their best player.

Bayern Munich: Hey you!

Dortmund Star Player: Hi

Bayern Munich: You want to play for us?

Dortmund Star Player: No, I’m good here.

Bayern Munich: We will quadruple your salary.

Dortmund Star Player: Where do I sign?

And you guys thought that La Liga wasn’t competitive.

…to be expected

This isn’t the first time this happening and probably isnt the last.

Here is a quick history lesson; in 2005, Borussia Dortmund were bankrupt and were on the brink of shutting up shop. This was due to bad money management which lead to huge debts they could not pay. BVB swallowed their pride and asked a loan from the almighty Bayern Munich.

So, what I’m getting at here is that maybe Dortmund feels that they owe Munich for the time the Bavarian club bailed them out. They have become a sort of feeder club for Bayern.

It’s either that or Dortmund is like I alluded to earlier, incredibly stupid to be selling their star players to their arch rivals every year.

Luka Modric’s diving left-footed volley. Real Madrid 3-0 Villarreal CF. And no, Ronaldo didn’t score this time.

2. Sánchez’ grass-cutter v West Bromwich Albion F.C.

Alexis Sánchez beats a player with a turn, then takes a grass-cutting strike to beat the West Brom goalkeeper. Arsenal back to playing fo fourth spot. Again.

1.  Castro placed goal v Hertha BSC

Gonzalo Castro makes placing the ball in the back of the net look so easy. Funny how we can’t seem to get it right down here.
