La Liga Exhibition Store Opens Doors In South Africa

With South Africa’s LaLiga audiences having grown 210% since last season, the world’s most beloved Spanish football league held an activation exhibition at Fourways Mall last week Thursday to bring more entertainment to their loyal supporters. I was there to see the ribbon-cutting by South Africa’s Managing Director of LaLiga, Marcos Pelegrin, who officially opened the LaLiga pop up store at Fourways Mall.

As part of the day’s engagements, invited guests got to listen to a fascinating Q&A facilitated by Musician, Comedian and Presenter Robot Boii and a LaLiga stand set up where we as fans could strike a pose and take pictures with their favourite team jerseys.

Also present was Budweiser who sponsored an exciting PS4 corner where fans could enjoy FIFA21 games. For the media and guests in attendance, a FIFA21 tournament was held, and members of the media battled it out for the top spot.

Speaking at the event , Marcos Pelegrin commented, “Football is more than just the game for LaLiga – it’s about our fans. Engaging with our fans with events like these reminds us of the real love for the sport that comes from the people cheering from behind their television screens. Seeing the passion from our South African fans never ceases to amaze me.”

Thomas Lawrence – Marketing Manager for Budweiser in Africa – also added that, “At Budweiser we are always looking for new ways to bring our consumers closer to the beautiful game. We are extremely proud to partner with LaLiga on this project, as we believe it aligns to our brand purpose of inspiring consumers to seize their opportunity in life.”

The LaLiga pop store is now open for all South Africans at Fourways Mall and will be hosting fans until the 30th of June. Fans and supporters alike are invited to experience the next level of LaLiga entertainment and are encouraged to share the day with friends and family.
